Siahwayne,
Perhaps the problem are the Peavey speakers. My opinion of Peavey speakers is that most are made for guitars and as such are loud, but are stringy sounding with little or no bass.
Last month I used a large Peavey set up that was already in place at a gig and it was a mistake. I couldn't believe that I was playing my same keyboard -- thought for a while that the keyboard had gone sour.
Just my opinion.
Regards,
Walt

Sounds like choice of speakers to me, try different ones and also I agree with headphone sound is totally different from speaker sound and why as pointed out one should never do their mix through them. Peavey does make a keyboard specific amp....but I still don't care for the sound of peavey amps and speakers myself.

so one possible cause could be due 2 my peavey speakers.Currently my spk are ceiling mounted(hanging down),I will try to relocate it and if still doesn't work, perhaps its time to replace my speakers.
PS eavey impulse 652s(passive/made in China)used less than 4 years and cost S$500 a pair(abt US$300).not sure if this is considered a low-end or mid-end model? any comments ?any good recommendations for spk that cost ard US$300/pair?

Please look at the thread:

Note also that the speakers (the tweeter)need to be facing at you otherwise the treble level will be lower than expected.

Peavey make a wide range of speakers, both Guitar biased and for PA, and the PA speakers I've heard/used have never let me down sonically. My current PA uses a pair of "Black Widow" 15's for the bass and there's absolutely no problem with them!

I use a Soundtech PL200 on foldback. Its a nice clean amp but you aren't going to smash any windows with 100W per channel, so dont over-drive it (i.e. make sure the clip LEDs NEVER light up) and you should be fine.

Moving the speakers sounds like a good idea.
