Hmmm, Yup... agreed. the Korg N634 appears to be possibly the best option between:
D 70
WK3000
and Korg N364.

I guess it's a matter of cost now. Also, the Casio may have a few little extra "fun" features like the free session and the one finger chord bass stuff. I forget what it's called. Auto accompanyment maybe. The Korg N364's specs are impressive. It's more of a work station.

For euro 400,-- you can find a used G 800.
Also dated but much more keyboard as the other three mentionned.

For euro 600,-- you can find a used G 1000.
Also dated but worth the difference.

For euro 600,-- you can find a GEM WK 4
Also dated but again worth the difference.

All three can be used very well in band situations, have much better sounds and styles and in fact with a bit of tweaking don't differ that much with todays state of the art latest keyboards soundwise.

Actually freddy all those boards you mentioned would fair well I guess considering they were all out along with the N-364. I still say the synth sounds on the N-364 beats the G 800/1000. Not sure about the Gem WK-4 (haven't played that one)

Soundwise for the sytnh sounds I agree with you Squeak but He wants to use it at home and it is his first keyboard.
At home an arranger will allow him to play from the start.
With a synth he needs to dig in midi and sequencing before playing much which causes many first time keyboard users to stop pretty fast.
Which I always consider a pitty.

Maybe I should define my needs more. It looks like that now in summer I mostly would need my keyboard for playing with band. But when the school starts again in August I maybe would play more at home. Then I could sell my synth and buy an arranger type keyboard. But there's one problem. If I now get a good keyboard that I like and it also sounds fabulous but doesn't suit to my needs and I should sell it to get better suitable keyboard. How could I then sell my "old and faithful friend from summertime"?
