Fran, Sorry I didn't see your post until now but I too have asked this question to AJ and he has also suggested the XD3 for the reason that he said, however, the tonality pedal is usually used for guitar players who also choose to use the bass pedals to trigger the chords and the 4 switch tonality pedal for the majors, minors, sevenths and minor sevenths. I would think that if you use a midi guitar, just like a keyboard, you should be able to play chords (different types) on the guitar and the midjay should recognize them. I haven't tried this because my midi guitar isn't near my midjay but I will and maybe AJ could answer this question for us.
