Back for more; thank goodness for you guys out there. After giving up my 740 and the "simple endings" button with it, I purchased the 2000 thinking that I would be able to accomplish the same as with the 740; but I was wrong. Not only I don't have the button but I can't even save the simple endings to a registration. this is a big problem for me, unless there's s0mething I am doing wrong. Could anyone elaborate?
Thanks!
Mario

You can't do it, and that sucks, but there are two solutions.

1. Press the E button twice during your performance of the song. This will give you the simple ending. Press E then D to change to the simple intro (especially good for breaks).

2. Copy and paste the style onto a floppy or into precious USER memory. Now you can choose the intro and ending of your choice and resave the style. Now when you recall this style, it will be set to your preferred intro and ending. While you're at it (See recent threads), you can save the style with your preferred tempo and OTSs too!

Try this for a simple ending -
Hit the ending button and then turn OFF the arranger, but keep playing the keyboard in an "ending" sort of way - fade it out, hold a big chord, whatever......
Also try the fade button without an ending selected, and then do the shut off thing. This will also make your endings more unique and song-specific.

Thank you gentlemen, those are great sugestions. By the way, just on the endings, registrations issues and memory availability issue alone I have placed an order for a new 9000pro. Too many "quirks" to content with on live performance, I will keep the PSR2000 for a home unit and probably be selling my X1 on ebay.
Thanks again

There have been enough complaints about the ending thing that maybe Yamaha will address that in an upgrade.

You know what I hate MOST about the endings? If I am using the vocal harmonizer...as soon as I shut off the drums - the harmonies stop.
This is just the pits. I do so many songs that have dramatic, rubato intros or endings, and the harmonizer is "linked" to the arranger section. I just can't get used to that. It should just follow a midi signal from ANY section of the keyboard, so that the player has the control over how and when the harmonies are used. It's no better on the higher end stuff either (Yamaha, that is) I know the Ketron stuff works a little more like I'm used to, but the darn vocalist is "linked" to the polyphony limit on those models, so it needs to be retriggered too often.
I'm stuck using an outboard still....to get the sound, unless it's a background music job, which I do very few of.
For senior dances, it's ok but not for my "real jobs"
