Hey guys/gals, this is a (sound track) song I recorded on the fly based on an inspiration from a well know series of the big screen. I was watching Lord Of The Rings this morning, and man every one of those movies has a killer sound track. Some of most beautiful symphonic scores I have ever heard. Anywho I thought I'd give it a shot. I used a custom voice combination of mine (Consists of Edited Slow Cello, and Edited String Ensemble). It's nothing too special, just spur of the moment inspriation from the movie. The MP-3 doesn't do the sound any justice, but oh well. Adjust your media player EQ's if need. Tell me what you think. I think it needs an oboe. Oh how I'd love to have the Yamaha sweet oboe sound Regards, Squeak http://s37.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1DE4AT90ALTI021OG93PUYJQT1

Thanks George. This song was literally recorded on the fly. I just hooked up my keyboard to my Fostex 8 track digital, and played it out. I feel the same about that oboe French horn would sound great in there too. The keyboard is just a Casio WK-3500. The custom string sound is really nice going through the Casio. However, MP3 conversion always takes a little something out of it Squeak

George, I took a cello voice, edited it completely, then edited the ensemble voice to my liking, then combined the two, and tweeked it further after that Actuallyt the song was recorded at 44.1 khz. That's the sampling rate for my Fostex. The file was huge. The MP-3 compression really drops the size down, but you also suffer in the sound reduction as well. I too am interested in what Yammie has in store for the new line replacing the DGX series. I hope they greatly improve the sound set. Absolutely lovely,Squeak. I agree on the Oboe as well, although the French Horn would be a nice touch as well. Maybe start with the Oboe and switch to French Horn to broaden the sound. The strings sound very impressive, even on my laptop. I am a big LOTR fan, having read the books over 25 years ago,and even getting the audio books on 12 cassettes(made by the BBC) so I listen in my car. The movies are unbelievable...true to Tolkien's visions, and having music, that can only be described as breathtaking(like the scenery)and very emotionally charged(like the story). Great recording, nice improvisation and arrangement. Ian

Ian, Glad you liked it. I've had so many different ideas floating around in my head now with the song. The oboe would sound great. Then maybe some french horns, and a bassoon as George suggested.
I've this idea where at one point to change tempo and spice it up a bit. Adding some timpanis (if I spelled that right), and a few other percussive instruments.
That's the beauty in film score. Such moving music, and very intense.
Squeak
