Larry.
I sold a PSR000 to Violo – something happened in the shipping. It was working well at my home, when it got to Violo the screen would not come on. I took it back and had it repaired, $50, a connection came loose.

The repair could have been $150, $350 or not repairable as my Technics KN2000 was. Estimate gotten first followed by some good healthy thinking.

My Dad was always willing to walk away from a deal, a valuable lesson for me.

IMHO, John C.

I have heard this:

If you shine a flashlight on a dark, supposedly dead LCD screen, and you can see images, that the LCD screen is ok, but rather the back light is out.

Can anyone verify this to be true, as this is the case with the PSR-3000 in the topic.

This would, I think, be good news...agree?
Just a bulb? Naa...not my luck, too easy, uh.

PS: To whom it may concern, a flashlight is a torch.

Yep,

The flashlight works just fine. You'll only see a faint image, but you will see an image if the screen itself is OK and just the backlights are fried.
