Seriously Scott, hop on a plane and come try it out. Maybe the problem was using the presets. I have not found a preset that improves the sound of any of the keyboards.
I prefer to run no presets, in other words, flat, and do a little e.q. from the kb or mixer.
Really not much is necessary at all.
What the presets are really designed for, are individual instruments. There are dedicated presets for each type of mic, each type of guitar, each type of instrument, and they work great for that. The presets will boost certain frequencies, enhance certain sounds, cut certain frequencies, add filters, etc. However it makes sense that no one preset is right for everything at once, which is what we're doing.
Just my theory.
