There are a few differences between X1 + XD series . The DRUM REMIX feature is the biggest feature that would fill your needs .
Let's use an example ..........

Hotel California .
Instead of using the drum loop that is programmed with the midi sequence , you can use a techno drum loop ( from a style or pattern) from the XD9 (keyboard) or XD3 (module) . Any pattern or style that is in the same time signature as the midi file , can be used with any sequence !


You'll hear MP3's soon enough . I took 2 midi sequences " PLAY THAT FUNKY MUSIC " and " CALL ME ALL" from Paul Simon . I recorded the songs 2 different ways . 1 with original drum track and than one with a drum remix !
