Real lethality is assessed to be 0.5 to 1 percent by highly regarded virologists, which would already be 5 to 10 times as much as with a normal influenca. Statistically, it often exceeds 2 percent due to the dark figure of mild cases remaining untested.
In Italy, lethality is not only higher due to the dark figure, but also due to the terrible situation that there are not enough intensive care places with breathing equipment. Other countries will very soon run into the same problem unless drastic restrictions are put in place. No fun.
