Hello all!
Forgive me if this has been posted somewhere already (I did a quick search and didn't see it anywhere) or if it's simply common knowledge.
Last night I was playing my PSR3000 with a Boogie Woogie Style. I really liked the Piano Bass Line that the Style was playing. I tried slowing the tempo down a bit and attempted to learn it by ear, but there were a couple of very subtle notes that I simply couldn't pick out. I wanted to learn how to play the Bass Line on my own without the Style.
So I created a new (blank) Song and set the board to record. I then simply triggered a C chord and allowed it to record a few bars of just the Style playing before stopping the recording.
I then switched to Score view on the LCD. It took me a few seconds to figure out which MIDI Channel the Bass Line was on, but eventually found it and was able to view the notes right on the screen.
This opens a lot of possibilities if you hear a riff in a Style (Intro, Main or otherwise) and would like to learn it.
I'm not sure how to adapt the method to other brand/model arrangers, but it works great on the PSR3000.
Anyway..
Hope this helps somebody out.
Take care!
-Mike
