I just purchased the PSR-3000. Can anybody help me where to get the 3.3V smart meida card? It seems everyone is sold out.

Smart Media is becoming obsolete. Smart Media cards have a 128MB memory limit.
Rather than buying a 128MB Smart Media Card, you could buy a xD Card to Smart Media Card Adapter for $4.

I'm not that computer literate in this area. What do you mean by buying an adaptor. Do I but this adaptor and the card you showed? From what I understand you're stating that place the xd card in the adaptor and then I can use it in the keyboard?

You are correct. You would simply insert the xD card into the Adapter.
The Adapter then slides inside the Smart Media Slot on your PSR3000.

You should be able to store all your MIDI files on your xD card.
You would need 3 items:


1. The Adapter:

3. A USB Card Reader:

You must also have a USB Card Reader hooked up to your computer
so that you could download all your MIDI files to your xD Card.

So the sequence of operation is as follows:

1. Hook up the Card Reader to your PC using a USB Port.

2. Insert the xD card in the Card Reader and download all your MIDI files from your PC.

3. Take the xD Card, place it inside the Adaper.

4. Plug in the Adapter into your PSR3000.

I would consider the adapter as a last ditch solution, because it will stick out the smartmedia slot and be a prime canditate for knocking and breaking.

You should still be able to get a 128 meg 3.3 v card (I think all the ones still out there are 3.3v devices), stick it in the slot and forget about it! If really stuck get a smaller one; unless you are a midi-file fanatic you aren't going to run out of space even on a 16 meg card.

After that use a PC USB connection and "Musicsoft Downloader" (which is on the driver CD) to move files to / from the PC and keyboard.

Or just get a USB drive - FORMAT IT USING THE PSR3000 - and use that for transfer instead.

You've got mail I've got a 128 meg.

Has anyone successfully used Olympus SmartMedia cards with the PSR-3000? I just want to be sure that they don't have any kind of special formatting or the like that causes compatibility problems.

I have the Olympus Smart Media 64 MB and have no problems with it. I leave it in the keyboard as an additional hard drive beside the flash drive. I don't remember where I purchased it but go to Google and type in smartmedia card 64MB and you will see your choices
