BN,
The (MY personal)Tyros impressions :
Pro's
Well designed. (SD1 and PA1X are kind off 'messy'/unlogical)
compact housing. (the PA1Xpro is HUGE!)
Low weight. (less than SD1, PA1XPRO is heavy)
EZ operation, even without reading the manual
(The PA1XPro just is too complex, what is caused by reducing the number of buttons)
Nice adjustable display without touch-screen.
(SD1 is OK, PA1XPRO has TS and the view angle is not OK)
Very fast booting compared to all others.
(SD1 takes minutes, even with only 3 samples to load)
Great styles and sounds.(The overall quality beats both the SD1 and PA1XPro)
No...I repeat NO latency or dropouts!
(The SD1 still has latency and dropouts, I noticed dropouts on the PA1XPro)
Drawbarsound better than SD1 and PA1X
Strings very good, without noticable looping sample. (SD1 shows loops)
Guitars are very realistic,
Accordeons have the same quality as SD1 (I disliked the PA1x ones)
Choirs are superb, the SD1 sounds 'toyish' compared to the Tyros.
Using registrations is soo easy/fast for stage use. (8 positions per bank, number of banks = unlimited)
The tyros is a real realtime machine, it's possible to explore while playing.
MIDI-file playback is OK (just as the SD1 is)
Signal routing has many options (separate outs etc.)
Silent HDD (the SD1 disk is noisy)
Con :
Only 61 keys. (but I got used to it)
I did not play the SD1 since I got my Tyros
