Thanks for sharing the link Steve. Ellis does a fabulous improvisation. The harmony effect is very good and quite realistic. A person would not need an external vocalizing unit at all when using the Tyros IMO. The quality is that good. I am sure Ellis' demos were made using Studio quality hardware, ie., top quality Mic, Cables, Mixer, Recorder, etc. which all plays a part in the finished product but it shows what can be done and what a person could achieve using his or her Tyros and the right equipment.
Steve, I am still waiting to try out the Tyros in my area: It is nowhere to be found in the San Diego Metropolitan area. GC says it has no intention of caring the Tyros in their stores. It is a special purchase item only. But be as that may, I do not intend to buy the Tyros but would like to demo it if I could. I am waiting for a Tyros Pro with "internal speakers", USB 2.0/Firewire, Digital I/O, playable Mega Voices, Smart Media but keep the Floppy Disk drive for midi files and such, 256 polyphony minimum, and 76 keys. Too much to ask? If Yamaha doesn't do it hopefully some of the other Arranger companies will see the need and wants of their potential customers and step up to the plate. In the mean time I continue to enjoy my PSR 2000 immensely and am amazed at the quality sounds and effects I get while using it. It truly is a great bang for the buck Keyboard.
Best regards,
Mike
