Out of all the sites that I visit daily, this is the only one that is working. Can't even get into Yahoo email. Any ideas? Anyone know where this server is located? I thought maybe a main router is down for maintenance or something. It's been like this over an hour at least. Odd.

Time to empty your cache..Right click your main hard drive[C]..click on properties..check the boxes for removal...and clean them up..

I think this is the problem ,not the internet..

It is just now started working. It wasn't the cache. Far as I know, nothing on this end. It has done this type of thing before. Rarely but it has happened. Computer experts told me a regional router was down or something. Beats me. Most sites I tried to visit would not load. Including yahoo and ebay. Back to normal finally.

Well, if the internet were broke, it could be that all of the sites ran out of money and couldn't post them anymore. But it seems it was "broken," in which case it now seems fixed.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. I only have twelve more days before I retire as an 8th grade English teacher.

Nice one, cassp

As a lifetime guardian of the English language, I applaud your small rebuke.
However, the older I get I allow that our language is in a constant state of change. Readers of the Oxford English Dictionary who were educated in the 40's and 50's will be ever amazed at the preponderance of new words which even the professors now allow.

As for the aforementioned mis-spelling I will be kind and suggest that 'Semilivemusic' has a keyboard with a sticky 'n'
cheers

Believe it or not, I actually knew the correct word was 'broken' but I wrote it because it's the way people around here speak colloquially. I often write in that manner.

I know what you mean, semilivemusic.
It is easy to pick up what you hear and repeat it without thinking.
It is ,at one and the same time, both bad and good because this is how we learn any language - by listening.
I like to listen to many different dialects for instance and often imitate them because it enriches our language.
I have always loved the American sounds and sometimes they appear in my songs!
cheers

Ain't nuthin wrong with a little colloquialism. Like a said (or is it As I said?), I didn't have nothing to do and I was just looking for a way to boast about my immeninet retirement. When you've taught 13 and 14 yr olds for 33 yrs., you learn there ain't nuthin sacred.

Well, if you've taught eighth graders for 33 years, that's quite something. So, what have you learned about America's youth since 1972? Don't hold back, tell it like it is.

Which company used to have the "cute" 404 messages ? Such as the ones stating that you had probably "broken the internet". My daughter almoist believed it one time, she was pretty young back then. I want to say Tripod, but that might be wrong.
