Hello

I know I've seen someone else mention this problem. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanx

Hi Scott

if I understand you right, you want to put something on top of your PSR2000 like a small 19" rack or 19" halfrack. I did this with a 19" halfrack sized KORG NX5R which is something like a small sound expander.

I use a... of what is it in English "Klettband", it is not a zipper, it is something you find on shoes like a ribbon(sorry babylon has no translation)...

but here is a picture
http://www.fiber--optics.de/Produkte/Montage/klettband.htm

There are types of this with glue on both sides. You put one on your PSR2000 (above the speaker was the best), the other below your rack. Ready... for playing bring both together... the rack is now fixed and will not slip away. After your gig you uncompress them. That's all.

Good luck

I use "velcro" for this sort of job - you can get it with adhesive backing.

Hi

Thanks for reply, but no, I'm referring to the music rack that comes with the keyboard that holds music. I set it up and once in a while I want or need to use music and after playing a short time off goes the book and music rack on the floor. This has never happened with any other keyboard I've owned or tried.

Thanx

Hey Scott,
I had the same problem with my 2000. It's a poor design for heavy items. I ended up putting a sturdy music rack up behind the keyboard. At least it would then hold a book.
Good luck,
Zuki

Hi Guy`s,
Same KB , same problem
What I do is ,take the songs I want and photo-copy the pages (if the song book isn`t too thick), that way I can lay out the pages and save "flipping" in the middle of a song.
The other thing I do is find "Tab-Music" (for guitar) that way if I know the mellody and just need the chords , then that works too.
All you have to do is print-out the "tab" and your "good to go" !!
I hope this helps

Where is DonM when we need him?
After seeing his creativity at work in building the "Redneck Rack" for his PSR 2000 and hearing about his $11 monitoring system, I am sure he can offer a solution that would not cost more than 27 cents.

Seriously, the music stand only fell off during two jobs before I decided not to use it any more. (BTW - same problem with the 740). Now I carry a heavy duty music stand and keep it off to the side of the keyboard in the event of a memory lapse. Total cost: Hmmmmmmm. After hearing Don's solutions, I am too embarassed to say.

I just pick the damned thing up when it falls off.
Seriously, that's why I don't use it much except at home to practice (about once a year).
Get yourself a redneck music rack. It matches my redneck road rack. (But that's another story.)

Thanks peoples for the ideas so far.

DonM, Got a great laugh from your first line. Now, I'm not sure, but I think it's time to give you guys a laugh on this one. Don, I can usually tell when you or someone's joking. But, I'll have to tell you I DID type "redneck" in search and didn't find anything. Got me! (I think).

Zack: What color and texture duct tape do you recommend? Very important to me. Would you mind posting a picture of your keyboard set-up with your music rack firmly in place as described and recommended? Have you contacted Yamaha yet. (Problem is though I know you are serious??!!)
