I just got mint condition MC303 for 275.00
used and every one I know is not into dance music,weired huh?I just want to know did I get a good deal?The thing is in out of the box condition.Thanx in advance

is not bad at all since their list price was originally $799.

Well, the price is probably dropped so low because of the MC505. Also many beginners have bought it as their first instrument and have realised that making electronic music isn't that easy, or they are just bored with the machine and want a decent synth.
That's probably why there are so many 303's out there second hand and so the price has dropped.

The only reason i keep mine is the drums..
I dont think that this "groovebox" gave me what I wanted.. but as a drum machine its okay..

If you are a beginner, I guess its ok, but If you know what you want (like fat bass) do youself a favour, and save you money for a better machine.. (like the 505! or jp808(0))

My opinion is it is a good spec machine and I wouldnt sell mine, But make your own mind up.
In England they go for about £300 because of the 505.
and of the two I would rather keep 500 in my pocket and spend it on software.

I think you got a great deal! Up here in Canada those things still fetch a hefty price. I went to a used synth store the other day and found one selling for $700 Can.
I also saw a Jupiter 8 selling for an amazing $1500 Can. and it was dusty and scratched!! I don't know how they get away with it but I walked right on out of that store. Jeez!

Actually I believe that the MC505 would be much better to get than the JX305. My reasoning for this is yes, the MC303 is basically a toy, but the 505 is the real deal. It has no real problems and is everything you could basically want in a groovebox. Its major plus over the JX305 is its mixer section...the sliders on that thing are so nice and convienient. The 505 as far as sound is concerned is identical to the 305, except the 305 has a few added patches that basically are useless. This is just my opinion. I don't own a 505 but have played with one at least a dozen times at a local shop. Hehe, I'm probably going to buy one of those boxes someday too, they are just so fun. Cheers, good luck.

Hi, i have a JX305 and i am as satisfied about it as i would have bought an MC505. The price is about the same here and i prefer keys anyway. The JX305 has also a mixer but it is a software one. The sliders are viewable in it's display when you call the mixer up. Shopprices here are 1250 US $ for both. It's a great thing with some nice sounds and lots of cool patterns.
When you go hear it in a store, it sells almost itself because the patterns are impressive. I haven't heared the EG-101 yet but i suppose it is in the same line as 303,505 and 305. The EG-101 should be cheaper (around 890US$) and easier to play (1-fingerchords and stuff). Soon we only have to push one button for a complete song, lol.
OH, i forgot one thing to notice. The JX305 has nice effects on board. I like the slicer effect most of all !! Combined with strings it gives a great and useable! sound. Have fun !

JX305.I mean the MC505 is a great tool,but so
far since I first posted this message the only real big problem I'm having with the MC303 is MIDI sections.So now that has me spooked about the 505's MIDI.Is it just as complicated?I still think when I'm ready for upgrading it's gonna be the JX305.Once again
I really do like the mc505 for its many different onboard options,but the JX305 looks more of a serious workstation type.I've also demoed both of them in my local gear store and from what I can tell theres not that much difference between the two.(except for D-Beam)
