The Sound Brush runs on the old 720k 3.5 Floppy Disks which are now impossible to find in any store. I have taken 1.44 Floppy's and formatted them to the 720k format (tried both Windows 95 and Windows NT and DOS) but they keep on giving disk errors. Sometimes the midi file will run properly, but the next time you run it it stops half way through showing a disk error message. Is there some special way to format the disk which can prevent this error? I have approached various forums, message boards etc, but nobody seems to know the answer to this one.

You're going to laugh but try this:
Put a piece of tape over the hole that you don't need. Just like the way you cover the tape protect on an audio cassette. It's sounds funny, but it works! Match up two disks and make sure you tape the correct one!

"HD" disks don't like being "DD" disks much.
That's why your getting disk errors.
You would think that because a HD disk can store more data than a DD disk that it would be more reliable, but it just doesn't work that way.
Your right about the "lack of" DD disks in stores, but keep looking, you may find some stock, and be perpared to pay more (??) than you would for a pack of HD disks.
(I think it falls under "Supply & demand")
It could be worse, it could have used "QuickDisks"

I managed to find that StudioSpares have Sony (may substitute MAxwell) 3.5" DD disks. A pack of ten costs around 3.00 (UKP not including tax + deleivery), so it proves they still exist. www.studiospares.com

Uncle Dave is correct, but after you cover the window don't forget to format as a 720k...Fran
