Come on. I've heard so many rumors about this. When will Roland release it. Okay, we know that Roland has long commited itself to making expansion boards, but with their new XVs, they should continue to make more SRJV Boards since they included the four SRJV slots.
It seems as if the industry has leaned toward having more realistic sounds as seen in its new XVs. But really, Roland could continue to rake in big bucks if they made more SRJVs. They would make money off of the XV, XP and JV owners.
How about some suggestions:
a) Roland could come out with 8MB light versions of their SRX boards. Imagine having an 8MB version of a future SRX board so us Roland XP/JV owners could also take advantage.
or
b) Continue to make more boards.
I have the Bass & Drums, Orchestral, Hip-Hop and Experience. My XP60 is dying for some realistic guitar sounds.
c) Roland could put some XV sounds on an expansion board for the XP and JV. How about a SRJV-XV1 or something.
Well, a) and c) would be the cheapest things to make. b) would require more research and money.
What do you guys think about all of this? Please contribute to this discussion.
