Hi chas. Sorry about your problem, also I have no knowledge about the PA's HD or how to swap etc., but have some links as I do look in the direction of PA2X Pro. Software here: http://www.korgpa.com/pa_root/en/extra/korgstory_Pa1X.html?en Always sad and not any fun when such things happens, and we have a say here: It's not the question about if the HD will fail, but more about when it stop function. Guess this will be more sheldom now when SSD disks take over the boot and OS storage. Good luck, hope it's easy to restore, and a HD should not be hard to find if it's a common drive from 2002 or that time. Any specs in the manual? Cheers GJ Btw, as written on the page: Standard options: 16 MB RAM Simm Module - 2,5" ATA Hard Disk (Pa1X only) [This message has been edited by Gunnar Jonny (edited 07-04-2010).]

Hi Chas As James says, it may be just a loose connection.
Regarding HDD in general, it is good practice to replace them when they have reached 2/3rds of the manufactures warrantee period, as this will reduce the chance of unexpected failure.
There are also 3 other things you need to do with any HDD, which are; Backup, Backup and Backup
Hopefully it is just a loose connection Regards
Bill

Thanks again for your suggestions and good wishes. Rikki, right back at you. Hope you can get your PA800 problems sorted out without too much expense. Spalding, tried re-seating the HD cable but no joy. Thanks for the suggestion, though. Sometimes that's all it is. Sadly, not this time. James, thanks for the disk specs. Just ordered two, both 20g, from two different manufacturers. Hopefully, one of them will work. Gunnar, thanks for the link. Saved me hours of searching for my owners manual. I downloaded everthing on the site and saved them to two different drives. All of you were very helpful. Thanks again. chas
