I haven't heard from that local company yet, although an email I got back from the sole importer in the UK wasn't very encouraging...they said:

I not sure I can help much as we only operate in the UK, so I guess you would need to contact the Ketron distributors in the various countries you visit to try to arrange a rental.
I do know that all instrument rental in the UK is very expensive and usually only taken up by broadcast companies and mega rich touring bands. You might find the best solution is to buy a second hand one from a shop and try to do a guaranteed sell back deal. BTW, Germany is the cheapest European country to buy a Ketron. Everything in the UK is much more expensive.

What about the Midjay? Is this more or less a substitute, portable SD1 without the keys? If it was extremely simple to upload midi files, my styles, parameters and settings to this device and it would basically function the same (albeit along with a real piano),this could also solve my problem. However, does it have a built in vocalizer too?
