I had Bose F1 last weekend for three days. I had three weddings Friday,Saturday and Sunday. On Friday and Saturday I used it with my system ( two Yamaha dsr112 and two JBL xlf618) and on Sunday wedding was smaller for 110 people so I only brought Bose to really test it. Tops sound pretty nice, but so do my dsr112 to tell you the truth. Subs were ok. I did like how the low end sounded but it wasn't enough. We play a lot of rock and pop, plus a lot of Balkan music too. When I talked to the salesman in the store he wanted me to really tell him what I think of these. These cost in Canada around 1400 to 1500$ Can .
I told him if these speakers were somwhere $700-800 I might even consider them for smaller gigs. But, for this kind of money I can pretty much buy much, much better speakers which sound better and have more headroom with better SPL. When I bought my dsr112 I paid around $900 per speaker. And these blow Bose by far. Even JBL prx 700 or prx600 blow these and leave them far behind. Still I would take F1 over L1 any time.
I am not saying they are bad, but for this kind of money they should give a lot more. Bose is still being "Bose" , selling us nicely wraped BS with clever advertizing.

Mirza I agree with you....I also had the Bose & Nanos too and the DSR12's which sounded amazing until I hear the FBT pro max 12's and made the switch....there are many really good choices out there in the speaker world...use your own ears and make a choice.

The expression " nicely wrapped BS" for Bose itself is a BS expression, to be clear. I don't know about F1 and L1 from my own experience, but I know a lot of Bose systems where competitors have only managed recently to achieve the same weight/size : performance ratio.

Rosetree I said for that kind of money I am saying they don' t come even close to being good. I never liked L1. I mean not that it's bad. For lets say longe music they work. Something soft. Sound is coming from everywhere and also from nowhere. Maybe some clasical music or a piano peace it will work great. But so would anything else too. Now days pretty much all speakers sound pretty decent. There is no bad speaker anymore. Now we look at what we get for the money. And when I said that Bose sells us BS I meant it as my opinion. Nobody has to agree with me. If it works for someone else l, great. I mean the same for Bose theatre systems. For that money it's not even half as good. I use small B&W that would blow any Bose system, doesn't matter how much they cost.

DNJ, I agree on those FBT. Those are great speakers. They were too much money when I bought DSR112. If I find two for a good price I wouldn't hesitate for a second.
