From my experience, one is more than sufficient. The B2 has an incredible low end frequency response, and the speaker design is such that on very low frequencies, the travel distance of the cone is far more than any sub I've seen in the past. Consequently, it would be very easy to overpower the audience with sub if you were using a pair of them. Kinda like when you pull up next to a bunch of kids in a car and the thump can be heard a block away. No one needs that much bass.

Good luck,

Gary cool

You don't need the Tonematch, as others have said.
I would audition comparable LD Systems Maui speakers before buying Bose. They have more features, sound as good, if not better, and are about half the price!

The store I am purchasing from only has the Maui 5...,I saw your post earlier and gave it a whirl. No go...I have credit at the store for 12 months and it's down to the K 12.2 or the Bose.

I think I will leave my current system set up at the church I play once a week and use the Bose for engagements

Love the Maui 5's...but only for small gigs up to 50 ppl. Anything over 50, outdoors, or in a large venue and two Bose Compacts come out.

I find the Maui 5s more powerful and have better bass than the Compacts!

I did an A/B test and found the Maui 5s main had to be turned up all the way and line to 3 or 4 o'clock to equal the Bose main volume up to only 10 o'clock. What am I missing?
