I have been using my Bose Compact for years and am trying to see what the advantages are. I see EQ and stereo connections. Is there a noticeable difference in sound dispersion compared to a line array, realizing that true stereo would mean two line arrays. You mentioned the unequal volume, but said the back of the room was too loud for some. Does this mean that the front of the room at the time was way too loud. Also, Johns question about bass, as the Bose Compact has plenty for my music.
I sure am happy that you are, just curious,
Bernie

Sorry, I reread your post and I think you were referring to lowering the bass volume.

My first thought was the fact that you have the unit in front of you, which might lead to a false perceived sound level, but your wife was checking the volume. I try and keep my Bose in back of me and slightly off to the side, as I have no monitor. I am sure you will get ironed out.
