By the way, just in case you’re unaware of this shortcut, if you repeatedly hit the SAME sound category button on the BK series (except the BK7m), it steps through the sounds in groups e.g. repeated presses of the Piano group cycles you through the acoustics, then the electrics, then clavinet's etc.. Repeated presses of the Strings group takes you through Strings sections, slow string sections, string synth sections, then violins, violas, cello’s and basses, etc. etc..

For some weird reason, the BK7m’s soundset is organized VERY differently and things are all over the place. 🤬

Thank you Diki, yes, I am aware of that.

Gunnar Jonny, I tried that INS file you provided, there are many Roland instrument definitions but the BK-9's .ins file is not present, but thank you for your effort.

Yeah, I know, but I thought maybe there was something within the collection that could be a starter to edit / rebuild for your purpose. smile

Quite a lot of BK9 sounds come from some of the old SRX boards, many are unique to the BK9 (the SN stuff), but probably the majority of the BK9’s soundset is based on the E80, so if one of the .ins files is for the E80, you’re in luck!
