Thanks very much, Bill. He has gone on the Roland Arranger site and he has learned that it is a common problem with all BK-9's, and there is no fix, in at least the immediate future.

Several other issues cropped up as well, which I won't go into here, but suffice to say he is returning it tomorrow, and may go with a Yamaha S950 plus an 88 note digital piano with midi.

He did comment on the BK-9's drawbar organ and said it was about one of the best clonewheels out there, but the other issues were a little too much to deal with for him.

Sorry once again for interrupting your thread...he was in a bit of a panic about being able to return on time.

Good luck with the sale of your equipment...you have some very tempting instruments and/or gear for sale...I'm sure it won't take long.
