Ok, so we've seen some good 1st impressions of the Tyros 3, but now that you folks have them for a few weeks and are getting deeper and deeper, can we have some more evaluations.

A few weeks???? You're joking right Al? It's only been a few "days" since people have received their T3's but who's counting right?

I'd like to know more thoughts and opinions on the T3 myself. I too find it kind of 'strange' that the excitement is no where near the excitement people had when the T2 came out. Which leads me to the conclusion that there's not much to get excited about??

If someone could post a few T3 Drum demos that would be nice. Yammie gave us "their version" of T3 drum kit demos and nobody got too excited about them. Bill (Wersi) said the T3 Drums are the best thing since sliced bread and you have to hear them in person. Okay.... But in the "meantime" a few T3 Drum demos done by T3 owners would help pacify us until the other 99% of us who currently don't have access to a T3 to hear it in person, if they could step up to the plate and hit a few our way until such a time the rest of us can play a T3 in person. That is, if you don't mind. Or do you... THAT BAD huh??

PS: Even though I won't be getting a T3 myself, by evaluating the T3 sonically, including the Drum Kits, it will help in determining how Yamaha is advancing sound wise. What better way to do that than by fellow members who actually own a T3 and are willing to share T3 demos with us. >> Not factory demos on the T3 per se, but User demos if possible.

May be they don't want stop playing to take time to post some review or samples.

Why the surprise its not that different?
A few things here and there....mucho bucks to shell out so soon after T2 of which people are so happy with already. I would think people expected MUCH more from T3 & are being cautious & patient and will wait till a possible Tyros 4.

I checked the eq and cmp setting to make sure they were on the ms-02 settings and finally had to go the the cmp setting edit and change the gain to a higher setting.
This corrected the volume. (by the way they have added a gain meter there to let you see what you're doing, easy too adjust now and keep it out of the red) sound was not all that good, except for 1 new guitar voice (single coil guitar). I spend about 4 hours trying to get the sound as good as the ty2 with Tomwel-Willie-Neville-Scott Yee looking over my shoulder on skype, Got it so so but never good enough to come close to what it should be. So added the z5500 system to the main outs tried it with both amps running together, and tried running each seperate. went to eq and made a user eq setting and fiddled with that for quiet a while and made a user also for cmp. got lots of volume but no "bingo" on sweetening this up. did a re-eniciate and then a factory reset. No changes

Now I'm exausted and ready to put it back in the box, so gave up for the day. This Am after a fitfull sleep of dreaming of pages of eq/comp settings. I turned it on and played with it a bit more, by reversing the L and right out on the main outs it brought the Z5500's up a bit and by cranking the ms-02 sub wide open it added a bit more of midrange. Still I can't hear any Dsp on the pre-set styls and the MFD is as dull as it gets. Concert Grand sounds like it was sampled from casio. So deffinately got something wrong here. Suspect it' may be a glitch or something when loaded at the factory. Also confused by the susposed 80gig harddrive only showing 740.46 Mb of user space. (formated and still got the same. sounds about right for a 75 gig drive ?

Waiting for Yamaha USA to open for business, and going to give Steve Demming a call. really don't think there is anything wrong with the keyboard or it's works, It sound like a ty2 that needs reiniciating.....so everybody down on your knees and pray for ol pose HA HA

I found throughout all the pages of settings many changes from the ty2 and you will have to push a few buttons to get the hang of the new way to navigate the ty3, not difficult but a bit overwhelming for the first couple of hours.

There seems to have been a minor house cleaning by yamaha, and have taking out some things here and there and added a few shortcuts here and there, Just a matter of of getting use to I guess. ie less presets in eq and cmp etc.

Under no surcumstanse don't be put off by what's said here, I'm sure this is just a one of those things.
This still looks like the best version of tyros yet and boy does the converter work great, converted a gig disk file and hands down a huge improvement from hearing them on the ty2.

A bit dissapointed with some the preset styles just a few country and almost all the OTS not even country. When I say dissapointed I mean Yamaha did not do the work for me, still have to change to suit.

All the guitar voices still sound about the same as the ones in my ty2 after being tweaked and saved to registrations. BUT the single coil is almost worth the extra money for the ty3 itself plus having a brand new keyboard.

You don't crank up a sub to get mid-range

You guys got to stop buying nearly $4k arrangers and running them through $400 speaker systems Pathetic, really... Buy a decent pair of near-fields ($1000+) and prepare to be amazed. Why cut corners here, when you just ponied up for the absolute best to play through it?

I've heard that concert grand demo, and one thing I can tell you is that if it sounds like a Casio on YOUR system, it's the system that's wrong, not the samples. Sounds like a phasing issue to me...

A T3 though MS-02's and Logitech... This makes about as much sense as playing a Casio through a $4000 B&W reference monitor setup

Just talked to Pose. He just talked to Steve Deming at Yamaha USA, and apparently simply forgot to include ticking all the boxs when performing a keyboard reset. He says his Tyros3 sounds great now. - Scott

Here...here...I agree...I learned the hard way to get some superb near field monitors and be prepared to be blown away!

My T2 and PA2XPRO both sound amazing through my Mackie HR 824's ...250 watts per channel ( L,R)(about $650 each). These things ROCK!

Untill I got these I did not get the sound quality of the instrument.
I think you can get a pair of good monitors for about $1,000.
